How can honeybees and other pollinators fit into a farm system, and what challenges do they face? A three-way discussion between Stone Barns Beekeeper Maggie Schwed, Landscape Manager Laura Perkins and Farm Director Jack Algiere will explore factors that contribute to honeybee health, and why honeybees matter. This discussion will explore an agroecological approach to managing honeybee forage along forest and field edges, while taking into consideration cost, time and seasonal honeybee needs. Topics will include invasive species and plant selection for forage quality, as well as nutrition and immunity.
