Agriculture accounts for roughly a fifth of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions when considering the full life cycle of production, including agriculture’s role in deforestation. Mitigation techniques such as improving the efficiency of lower-emission production systems, adopting carbon sequestration practices, and changing consumption patterns will be explored in this workshop. Learn the basics of carbon sequestration, how it can greatly reduce GHG emissions, and the opportunities for farmers to integrate these practices into their work. Join Ricardo Salvador and Marcia DeLonge of the Union for Concerned Scientists as they explain what a national agriculture vision looks like for farmers who want to participate in this work.
