True Leaf Farm
Farmer
Comerío, Puerto Rico
In 2015, I founded True Leaf Farm, an organic, intensively managed greenhouse of microgreens, edible flowers and shoots to supply 35+ restaurants in Puerto Rico. Due to the passing of Hurricane Maria the future of the project is currently uncertain. Before obtaining my bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from University of Puerto Rico in 2013, I was an intern at D Acres of New Hampshire, a non-profit permaculture farm and educational homestead. The following season I assisted at the Bread and Puppet Theater Farm in Vermont. I returned to Puerto Rico in 2013 where I worked at COET Inc. as an educator, planning and implementing small group workshops for local communities to establish and maintain their own urban gardens. Prior to founding True Leaf Farm, I was Assistant Farm Manager at Tropico Wholesale, a wholesale supplier of ornamentals to Home Depot stores around the island. I am currently working on a farm stand in the Union Square Farmers Market in NYC and I am openly seeking new opportunities in the mainland United States. I am deeply passionate about horticulture and excited to further develop my expertise.
